One Charter PlaceAnchoring the first phase of Downtown Coral Springs is One Charter Place, a 95,000 square-foot, four-story, Class A office building surrounded by a free-standing bank, parking garage and retail structures. The building sits on 3.8 acres of land near Coral Springs Charter School, which once was an old shopping center with a Burdines and Ross flanking each side. The $25 million dollar One Charter Place project broke ground in August 2005 and opened for business in Spring 2007. Signature tenants include State Farm, which occupies about 50 percent of the building, Wachovia, Merrill Lynch, First Southern Bank and LasikPlus Vision Center. More retailers are on the way to round out the spaces. One Charter Place, which totals 210,000 total square feet, is the first development completed in the new Downtown, which will be a mixed use, pedestrian-friendly destination on the four corners of University Drive and Sample Road in the heart of Coral Springs.
